We are a very friendly crowd and are always pleased to welcome anyone who may be interested in joining us. Meetings held at St Thomas Church Hall.
Our choice of subjects is widely varied and our talks come from volunteers in the group and also from occasional guest speakers. Talks are either given using computer presentations, talking about an item of memorabilia.

Activities
I addition to meetings, we organise trips to places of historic interest – recent visits have been to Winchester, Stratford-upon-Avon and Southwark Cathedral. Future plans are to visit Salisbury and St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
The Bridge for Beginners and Refreshers group is both for those members who have never played cards before and those who would like to refresh their knowledge of the game.

The group meets in the lounge room of St Thomas’ church hall, Mayflower Way, Holtspur

We meet in each others' homes on the second Thursday of each month. We read one book per month, each group member taking it in turns to select a book.
At meetings, each member has a chance to give his/her views, followed by a general discussion.

The Painting & Drawing Group welcomes everyone, regardless of ability, even beginners.
We are a very sociable group who enjoy working together and chatting about what we are doing. Some of us are beginners, some have been painting for many years, some belong to regular art classes, some just value this monthly opportunity to begin or develop a picture.
Activities
We choose a different theme each month, ranging from seasonal to still life, landscape to floral, with the occasional “free” session such as Think Large, Let yourself go, Extending the Theme, but anyone can work on their own if they wish.
We bring our own materials; water and tables are available and there is a tea break, when we admire each other’s work and chat about painting and drawing.
Venue: United Reform Church Hall
For beginners, improvers, refreshers, and more experienced members. All levels of expertise are welcome.

As a conversation group, we ask that members are not beginners and have had some experience of making themselves understood in German. We will be a mixed ability group – so yes, plenty of mistakes but the object is to attune our ear and thinking to German rather than English. We will be encouraged to speak entirely in German (except during our tea break) by our good fortune in having one or two fluent speakers come along for moral support. Some material will be circulated by email before the meeting if members wish to prepare something on a chosen topic with a nudge towards useful vocabulary, but otherwise are encouraged to bring along material of their own choosing.
Activities
Currently meetings are held in the Lounge at the rear of St Thomas’ Hall, Holtspur, starting at 1.45pm for about an hour and a half, on the first Tuesday of the month.
